It is difficult to get a visa for France. FALSE!

Depending on your nationality, the duration and the reason for your stay in France, it may be necessary for you to obtain a visa before leaving. To obtain a French visa, the necessary documents are the following:

  1. Original passport valid for at least six months + 1 photocopy of passport first page
  2. One application form with all columns filled in and 2 recent photographs in the size of 3.5 cms x 4.5 cms with white / light background. The face should cover about 70-80% of the photo area.
  3. Original covering letter
  4. Copy of confirmed hotel reservation / Attestion d'accueil (sponsorship certificate)
  5. Copy of itinerary prepared by the travel agency (only for those going on tour)
  6. Copy of income tax papers of last three years / last month bank statement / last 3 months salary slips
  7. Copy of overseas medical insurance policy + repatriation, evacuation cover (equivalent to 30000 euros)
  8. Copy of air ticket or PNR (booking printout)
  9. All applicants except first time traveler (traveling first time to a Schengen country) while applying for a French visa at the French embassy in Delhi will be required to fill visa insurance undertaking form in addition to the visa application form.
  10. Service charge: Rs. 440/- (non-refundable)
  11. Fee
    • Short stay (up to 90 days): 60 Euros
    • Ordinary transit (up to 5 days): 60 Euros
    • No fee for children below 6 years (but visa still needed)

The documents must be arranged in the order given above.

Let us draw your attention to the following points:

  • The UK is not part of Schengen. You therefore need a different visa for the UK.
  • Switzerland is not part of the European Union. You therefore need a different visa for Switzerland
  • You need a different visa for the USA
  • Minors traveling alone must carry authorization for traveling signed by their parents.
  • No vaccinations are required for entering France
