France Is Impossible For Vegetarian Travelers. FALSE! |
There are, in fact, a number of very enjoyable options in terms of quality –the French use very fresh, seasonal products in their cooking- and a variety of vegetarian food. Diverse salads are always plentiful on menus; as are cheeses, of course. The trick is to know what to choose and what to ask for. Not always an easy task for an English speaking person…
In addition, and for the day-to-day stops in cafés or restaurants, we provide our vegetarian travelers with lists of vegetarian food easily available, as well as translations, phrases and explanations of what to ask for or order. In Paris and other large cities one finds a selection of vegetarian and Indian restaurants. We suggest a large range from which to choose. We feel that although a vegetarian traveler might not be able to sample the more traditional French dishes, he or she will nevertheless be able to enjoy a stress free, satisfying gastronomic trip. AND, if you a have a sweet tooth, the pastries are to die for!
We also ensure that travelers know how to make it clear in French what particular food they do not eat, so as to avoid any kind of misunderstanding. |
